May News:-

The end of an era. We recently held a party at our UK premises to say ‘Good Bye’ to our long serving European Manager, Cees Rieff. Cees has spent the last 15 years building our European customer base from virtually nothing to nearly a third of our overall business and leaves Thames being a major and respected player in the European market in terms of supply of cryogenic pipework, serving most of the major gas companies and many of the prominent customers in the field. During the last couple of years, Cees has been passing the baton over to Frank Kraiij, who now assumes responsibility for day-to-day management of these markets. Cees not only played a major part in the story of Thames Cryogenics but has also been a leading light in a number of firms going back many years and is affectionately thought of as ‘The Godfather of Cryogenics’ by many of his former colleagues and students. Whilst we have said Good Bye, there is no doubt that Cees will continue to play an important role in the background utilising much of his experience and knowledge to continue to develop our business, but we also wish him many long and happy years with his family.

November 2009:-

Thames Cryogenics have just completed work on a very complicated liquid nitrogen system at a private medical facility in Central London.

The scope of work not only included our superinsulated vacuum line for which we are well known, but also fill and vent lines for the bulk storage tank which had to be sited below ground away from the tanker filling area, oxygen depletion monitoring, freezer alarms, gas venting and a safe decanting system.

The work had to be completed under difficult conditions to exacting standards for the gas supplier and has taken many months from concept through to completion but is another good example of an integrated system that continues to make Thames Cryogenics stand out from the competition.

October 2009:-

Thames Cryogenics are very pleased to announce the addition of a range of very low pressure liquid nitrogen dispensing systems. Including both manually operated and automatically controlled systems they provide a way of delivering low flows of liquid nitrogen at very low pressures (<300mBar) ideal for filling small dewars or cold traps. See datasheets for more information.
